What on-set production support does
Our people on set are there for the production rather than the picture. That means staging gear so the next setup is assembled before it is called, managing the location and the people around it, meeting vendors and couriers at the door, keeping the schedule honest against the shot list, and solving the practical problems that surface once a day is running. It is a role that is easy to describe and hard to fake: most of its value is in things that do not happen, like the forty minutes not lost digging through cases, or the neighbour who does not call parking enforcement because somebody spoke to them first.
Gear handling and staging on the day
Gear moves from the vehicle to a staging area near the set, not into the set. A clear staging point out of frame and out of the walking path is the single change that makes every subsequent setup faster, and it also keeps empty cases from ending up where the shot is. Cable gets run and taped where people walk, stands get weighted properly rather than optimistically, and circuits get identified before anything is plugged in — on location that is usually where you learn that three outlets in the room share one breaker. Between setups, the next one is already being built rather than being started.
Location management and vendor wrangling
Somebody has to know where the panel is, which door the courier will use, when the dock window closes, and what the building manager was told. On location that person also handles the parts of the day that involve other people: neighbours, security, deliveries, the tenant upstairs, the person who arrives to say the driveway is theirs. Protection goes down at the start of the day rather than after the first scuff, and the location gets walked and photographed at wrap. Handled well, none of this reaches the photographer or the client at all, which is the point.
How many crew a photo shoot actually needs
One experienced person is often the right answer on a small editorial or product day: someone who can drive, carry, stage, prep and solve. A build, a multi-setup commercial, a talent day or a location with a long carry usually wants a small crew, because the load-in and the setup both become critical-path work. We scale to the job rather than carrying overhead the client pays for either way, and we would rather quote the shape the shoot needs than the shape that bills better. If a day is going to need more people than the budget has, that is a conversation to have during pre-production, not at nine in the morning.

Studios and locations throughout Greater Los Angeles: Downtown LA and the Arts District, Hollywood, Silver Lake and the east side, the Westside, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Malibu, Long Beach and the South Bay. Each has practical realities that decide a schedule — freight elevators and dock windows downtown, PCH drive times and coastal wind in Malibu, permit-sensitive residential streets in Pasadena, beach and boardwalk rules on the Westside. Knowing which ones apply before the day is most of what local crew is worth.

Can you provide additional production crew?
Yes. We provide production support crew for shoot days — people who can handle gear, manage a location, meet vendors, and deal with the practical problems that surface once the day is running.
Do you work on one-day shoots?
Yes, and single-day productions suit how we work. A right-sized crew, the vehicle the job actually needs, and one experienced person carrying logistics from prep through wrap is usually the correct shape for a one-day shoot.
Do you carry insurance?
Yes, and we can provide a certificate of insurance for a production, a location or a rental house. Send the certificate holder details and the limits the production requires, and we will have it issued.
