Hartman Production Co. is a Los Angeles-based production support company providing production logistics, transportation, production design support and on-set crew for commercial, editorial and branded photo shoots.
Who we are
Founded by Los Angeles production professional Ian Hartman, the company supports local and visiting photographers, producers, agencies and creative teams shooting throughout Greater Los Angeles. It was built around a straightforward idea: keep production support experienced, flexible and hands-on.
In practice that means the right people for the job, reliable transportation, local knowledge, and a team that understands what has to happen before call time — and what changes once the day starts. We scale the crew to the production rather than carrying overhead the client pays for either way.
We are a production support company rather than a full-service production company, and we are clear about the difference. On small and mid-size shoots we can carry most of the production. On larger ones we work alongside the lead production team inside a scope everyone agreed before the day.

The scope is written down
Before the shoot, in plain language: what we are handling, what we are not, and who is solving the problem if a location falls through. Most bad shoot days start as a gap nobody named.
The crew is sized to the job
A truck and two experienced people, or several days of prep and a small crew on set. We would rather quote the shape the job actually needs than the one that bills better.
We will tell you when we are wrong for it
Some jobs want a full-service production company, a permit service or a designer. Saying so early costs us a booking and saves everyone a bad shoot.
