What a ground team removes from a visiting shoot
If you are travelling to Los Angeles for a shoot, the expensive part is rarely the shooting. It is the day that gets spent collecting, finding, driving and figuring out access in a city you do not live in. A ground team removes that: the gear is collected and checked, the props are sourced, the location is prepped and protected, the vehicle is loaded in the order the day will need things, and someone already knows where the truck can legally park. You land to a shoot that has been set up rather than to a list of errands, and the crew you flew in spends its hours on the work it was flown in for.
Why local knowledge is the actual product
The things that decide an LA shoot day are not on a map. Drive times between the Burbank rental houses and a coastal location in the wrong window. Which prop house on the east side is still open at four. Which downtown buildings have a loading dock that closes before a shoot wraps. Which cities inside Los Angeles County run their own film permit process instead of going through FilmLA. Where the marine layer sits in June and where it does not. None of that is difficult once you know it, and all of it is expensive to learn on the day with a crew standing around.
What we can cover for an out-of-town production
Production vehicles and equipment transportation. Rental-house pickups, returns and vendor collections, with the gear checked at the counter. Prop, furniture and material sourcing against your list. Location prep, protection, power and staging before call time. Experienced production crew on the shoot day. Coordination from prep through wrap, and strike and returns at the end. On a longer trip we can also handle the pieces that fall between shoot days — overnight gear security, a mid-trip vehicle swap, the second location that got added on Tuesday.
Working alongside your own producer
If you are bringing a producer, we work inside a scope they set, and the scope is written down before the shoot so nobody discovers a gap on the morning. If you are not bringing one, we can carry more of the day, up to the point where a job genuinely needs a full-service production company — and we will tell you when it has crossed that line rather than taking the booking and hoping. Either way the reporting line is clear and there is one person on our side who owns the answer, which matters more than usual when half the team is in a different time zone until the night before.
How to get a visiting shoot started
Send the shoot dates, the locations if you have them, what you are shooting, and what you need handled. If you have a shot list, an equipment list or a designer’s list, send those too — they answer most of the questions we would otherwise ask. We will come back with what the day looks like from here: what has to be collected and when, what should be sourced rather than brought, where the vehicle can sit, what the drive times actually are, and what it costs. If it turns out we are not the right team for the job, we will say so and point you at who is.

Can you help an out-of-town photographer or producer shooting in Los Angeles?
That is a large part of the work. If you are travelling to Los Angeles to shoot, we act as your ground team: production vehicles, equipment pickups from the rental houses, prop and material sourcing, location prep, and experienced hands on set. You arrive to a shoot that has already been set up rather than to a day of errands.
What areas of Los Angeles do you cover?
Greater Los Angeles: Downtown LA and the Arts District, Hollywood, the Westside, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Malibu, Long Beach and the South Bay. We also take day trips further out when a location calls for it.
Do you handle permits?
We are not a permit service, but we know what a shoot day needs and will tell you plainly when a job looks like it needs one. Film and still-photography permits in the City of Los Angeles and unincorporated LA County are coordinated through FilmLA; some cities, including Malibu, Pasadena, Beverly Hills and Long Beach, run their own process, and county beaches are handled separately. Confirm the specifics for your location with the permit office before the day.
